• When running wire to a house alarm transmitter or reciever avoid laying it near any aerials as this can impact the aeriels performance.

• Avoid placing or mounting you house alarm recievers and aerials close to any large metal objects/fittings or TVs and computers.  As this can impact the signals being sent to the house alarms control panel.

• Before mounting any of your house alarms devices into your chosen location check the signal strength to ensure it is powerful enough.  Always carry out several tests to ensure you choose the best location.

• Try to avoid placing the house alarm transmitters and recievers on metal or UPVC windows as this can interrupt the signals being sent or recieved.

• For Wireless house alarms do not alter the aerial or replace with ones that are not approved or recommended by the manufacturer.  This may be a cheaper option but it could impact the house alarms performance.

• Check the makers guide for position of any wireless aerials as some should only be mounted vertically.  This is easy to miss when reading the instructions and can negatively impact your house alarms performance.

Always follow your instructions to aviod mistakes and poor performance.  As you could end up with a house alarm that doesnt detect intruders or constantly goes off when it shouldnt.
